There are quite literally millions of article directories out there that you can submit your articles to. However, you get the best bang for your SEO buck by hand selecting the best article sites to submit your articles.
Below you will find my favorite list of article directories that all allow DOFOLLOW links.
1. EzineArticles
2. IdeaMarketers
3. GoArticles
4. WebProNews
5. ArticleDashboard
6. ArticleCity
7. Article Alley
8. Amazines
9. Articles Factory
10. Buzzle
I never liked the idea of automation software that spits out your article to 600+ sites. You will get no benefit from those links for SEO as most of the pages will be in the supplemental index, as caused by the duplicate article content.
My favorite article strategy has always to hand select and hand submit to only the most authoritative sites in Google’s eyes.
Enjoy!

Thank you so much, man. Someone told me to use automatic article submitter a few days ago and now I’m frustrated as hell. I have registered accounts on nearly 100 article directories and most of them just sucked.
I have always wondered if this will help me or not, and my answer was “no” most of the time, but I didn’t want to believe it. I believe it’ll be easier to just use a machine. But that’s wrong.
Now, I’ll only submitter to the top 10 directories that will give me the best result. Thank you.
I do agree that submitting the same article over and over again to hundreds of directories is a waste of time and could get your links devalued. Submitting original articles in a handful of directories is the best thing to do.
I have a dofollow directory at http://www.Outofstress.com, it’s a PR5 and I have only recently started accepting articles on it.
Yes, I agree with you. Submit your article using automated software doesn’t earn a good results. Hand submission is much better result. Thanks for your great idea.
Great post,
thanks for the list of trusted directories, will give them a try.
Hey Wes,
What you really want to look for are article directories that are human reviewed (like Ezine) and that take from the better quality articles.
That means that your posts will gain the most exposure since Google loves them.
A few of my personal favorites are GoArticles.com, Ezinearticles.com (duh), Rysite.com (my article was indexed in less than an hour)…
Try new directories, and choose ones that Google already enjoys.
I totally agree that it is best to hand pick and manualy add articles to quality sites, rather than mass article directories.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks for the list. I also agree with you that you should only hand submit your “well written” articles to the trusted articles sites like the ones you mentioned.
Thanks again,

I just joined Go Articles as my first directory membership and then found this page. Go Articles is actually very good and i look forward to checking out some of these other ones. Thanks for posting.
You have done really great work here. Could you please tell me how much time Buzzle take to purplish any article?
Hi Wesley, could you please explain me on what basis you are saying these are good article directories? Based on Alexa Ratings? Page Ranks?
Thank you for such a nice post.
Thanks for the top article directory list. Since this is a old list, do you have an updated list?
Thanks
Hi, do you know quizilla? It is possible to post some article in there, but as I tried to submit one of their page in Propeller, it said the domain was banned due of illegal content. Propeller does not accept any Quizilla page. Do you know anything about it? do you think quizilla is a good links resource?
WhySilly.com allows publishers to submit short articles and earn cash using a simple revenue share program.

Great advice.I have a question though,
Should I post to forums with high index page but the actual page for putting links has no PR at all? Will google still consider this as a boost to my PR?
Thanks in advance
All pages on the internet has some PR benefit even if there is none shown in the toolbar. Just make sure the page is cached by Google and the homepage has a good PR.
