Big Screen HDTV – Bigger the Better

Recently, I came across a news which was about a company which was introducing a 50 inch screen. All the onlookers and audiences were excited like anything. It really amazed me how manufacturers are now in a spree to introduce most unusual things. It isn’t long since I came across the worlds smallest TV. Today if you go through the technical blogs and articles then you can understand how people are now more enjoying in watching and for that matter buying unique gadgets. And as per the manufacturers, it’s a big business out there. If you have manpower and technology then you put it to have more products which are unique in their own way.

Now you get cameras which have calling facility. Well, I don’t give a damn calling them phones. If you have a 5 mega pixel camera in your phone then why on earth it would be a cell phone, it should be called a camera with calling facility. This isn’t the case only with cell phones another most notable thing which follows this mania is the TV. Yes, initially we had television sets which were bulky and some of then also had shutters. Then came color televisions and after that television industry took a drastic curve. Now you can get televisions which can be your big screen computer, your theatre system and what not. Television is no more only a medium to watch soaps and films, it’s something else. And it won’t be wrong at all if I would say that people are now buying televisions which give them a status increase. After the advent of HDTV an acronym for High Definition Television, everything just changed. By that time LCD TVs were already there in market and people were astonish to see the quality of that TV and when HDTV came it gave a new dimension to normal television viewing.

Initially these HDTVs were introduced in normal sizes and gradually there was some change adopted by manufacturers to allure more customers. But suddenly there was a rage in HDTV market as more and more manufacturers become busy in introducing the largest screen HDTV. Thanks to the Japanese, Chinese and Korean market, you get things in most unusual size. They make either worlds biggest or world’s smallest things. There isn’t something which can be called the most suitable thing. Among them the most noticeable manufacturer is Samsung which recently launched the 70 inch full HD LCD TV. This 1080p enabled TV will have a contrast ration of 500000:1 for pictures. So isn’t it what we call huge. This isn’t only with Samsung, but companies like Sony, Toshiba, and many more are now following this trend and introducing more big screen HDTVs.

But certainly, in this rat race our very own traditional TV has almost disappeared. With these big screen televisions people are now having theatre quality of viewing and sound and for most of these customers traditional TV is just a history. But it will be a thing to observe as how long can this rat race sustain and what could be the limit to these screens.
