Wi-Fi which is mostly referred as wireless networking uses radio waves to connect internet. This is similar to you television, mobile phone, and radio. In radio you get a one way communication where you hear what the radio transmits but wi-fi is like a two-way communication where you can also transmit information. Basically you require a computer and a wireless router for making wi-fi connection. The computer’s wireless adapter translates the data through a radio signal and then transmits it to the antenna. After this the wireless router receives the signal and sends the information to the internet via physical wired Ethernet connection. This process also works in reverse. Wi-Fi uses a radio which is very similar to your walky-talky (if you have ever used it). Though the wi-fi radios look similar to the traditional radios but there are some notable differences between the two.

How to Create Wi-Fi Networking
Creating a wi-fi networking is not a big task. With few important devices you can make your home or office a complete wi-fi zone. If your home or office becomes a wi-fi zone then you can surf internet within a certain range of your wi-fi area. This range depends on how you prepare your wi-fi networking. Wi-fi is best for places where there are multiple computer set ups. And if you don’t want to be entangled in wires then the best way to have internet in multiple computers is through Wi-Fi internet service.

If you have multiple computers networked in your home or workplace then you can make a wireless networking with a wireless access point at your home. But if your computers are not networked and you want to replace your internet networking then you need to buy a wireless router to make a wi-fi networking. For this you need a port to connect to your cable or DSL modem, a router to connect the computer and Ethernet, an Ethernet hub, a firewall, and a wireless access point.

The wireless router allows you to have the wireless signals to connect your computer to other computers. You can do the same with your Ethernet cable. Most of the modern routers provide a coverage area of around 100 feet in all the direction of your office or home. If your requirement is in a wide area then you can buy some extenders or repeaters to increase your wi-fi area.
