Delay in Palm OS II release

Recently Palm was in news for the announcement of its latest operating system, the Palm OS II. But now it’s been rumored that this operating system will take more time to release. Well we are unable to trace the reason but we have got some information about this unique operating system. Though till now Palm haven’t disclosed any feature of its latest operating system but, all it has given is some slides which somehow delivers the news about the OS. But, getting these slides was also quite difficult for us as it had some important information about the system. This much awaited operating system was summed up in four slides and I am glad to give you the information about the new Palm OS II.

The First Slide
This slide described the goal of this system. As we all know Palm is famous for its technology and design and this is what it wants to continue in its operating system. What we learned from this slide is that Palm is preparing an operating system which can give the user the best and most simple mobile computing solution. This operating system will have numerous features which can support a wide range of systems. You can get simple personal information management to multimedia playback in this operating system. The basic focus is to make your mobile a multidimensional gadget, so this operating system will give you Microsoft Office support and many features that will enhance your internet access. The slide also mentioned a vital point which talked about the back up and storage capacity. This operating system will give you easy back up and restore from the web. If you have ever suffered from bad software in your mobile then you should think it as good news.

The Second Slide
Taking the goal section to another slide, Palm talked about the seamless mobile experience which will be provided by this operating system. One of the most noticeable features of this OS is the instant on and quick application switching. As we all know Palm offers some of the low cost smartphones which varied features, so this operating system will follow the same legacy. You will get various features to make your phone ahead of its competitors and all these within your budget. This operating system also challenges other smartphones for their battery life. We hope Palm will give all what it is saying.

The Third Slide
Platform transition management was the main point of discussion on the third slide. In this slide Palm talked about its new product mix. Palm previously had the Palm OS Garnet which was the only operating system by Palm Inc. but now it’s planning to launch the Palm OS II which will be based on Linux. Palm developers will have Linux based operating systems. This slide gave various information about the intensions of Palm. Though Palm is introducing its own operating system but it will continue to have devices which will be based on Windows Mobile technology.

The Fourth Slide
This slide talked about the commitment of the company and how it will have better operating system for its users.
